Winter Bay

One of Stockholm's most unique conference venues is located in the scenic Vinterviken. Alfred Nobel's old dynamite factory from 1891 now combines industrial charm and rustic elegance in an inspiring environment that is perfect for large conferences, kick-offs, launches, and corporate events.

Winterviken offers tailor-made arrangements for groups of around 150 to 500 people, combining meetings with gastronomy, history, and proximity to nature. The historic building, large open spaces, and beautiful natural light create an atmosphere that brings energy and creativity to every gathering.

Stora Salen – a conference room with character

The heart of the facility is the Great Hall, an impressive space measuring approximately 400 square meters with a generous ceiling height of up to eleven meters. Here, guests are greeted by rough ceiling beams, a beautifully patinated wooden floor, and large arched windows that let in light from all directions.

The open space makes the venue flexible and equally suitable for conferences, lectures, and workshops as well as trade fairs, product launches, or festive dinners. The combination of a historic industrial setting and modern technology creates a unique place where ideas can take shape and meetings become memorable.

Food cooked from scratch

Food is a central part of the Winterviken experience. Renowned chefs work here, preparing all food from scratch in their own kitchen. Ingredients are carefully selected and menus are adapted according to season and availability.

Conference guests can start the day with breakfast, continue with lunch, and finish with dinner or a festive meal in the Grand Hall. For those who wish, there is also the option of booking the One Planet Plate conference concept, which focuses on sustainable and well-planned meals.

Conference with nature around the corner

Winterviken is surrounded by greenery and water, making it easy to combine your meeting with a break in nature. After lunch, participants can take a walk along the water or up the hill behind the house – perfect for walk & talks or a moment of relaxation between program items.

When the conference day is over, the evening can continue with pre-drinks, dinner, and a party in the historic building.

A place with history

The venue where conferences are held today was once a central part of Alfred Nobel's dynamite factory. Sulfuric acid—an important component in the manufacture of nitroglycerin—was produced here before the dynamite mass was further processed down by the water.

Production began to wind down in the 1910s and was later moved to Gyttorp. After many years of neglect, the building was renovated ahead of Stockholm's year as European Capital of Culture in 1998. Since 2008, Winterviken has been run by restaurateurs Markus Aujalay and Erika Michael, who are also behind the Tegelbacken restaurant in Stockholm.
