Our commitment

As part of our commitment to sustainability and conservation of our seas, Konferensbokarna supports WWF's work to save the Baltic Sea. By contributing to WWF's projects and spreading awareness of the challenges and opportunities of the Baltic Sea, we aim to be part of the solution to create a vibrant and healthy Baltic Sea for future generations.

Save the Baltic Sea

WWF is one of the world's leading organizations in preserving and protecting our oceans and marine ecosystems. In its work to save the Baltic Sea, WWF focuses on several key areas, including fighting unsustainable fishing, protecting key marine areas, reducing eutrophication and hazardous discharges, improving maritime safety and reducing oil spills.

The Baltic Sea, one of the most polluted seas in the world, faces a number of challenges that threaten its biodiversity and ecosystem health. Discharges, pollution and overfishing have long had a negative impact on the health of the Baltic Sea, and it is now more important than ever to act to reverse this negative trend.

By raising awareness of the problems facing the Baltic Sea, WWF works to engage politicians and decision-makers in all Baltic Sea countries. By working together across borders, they aim to create changes in behavior and attitudes that benefit the long-term health and survival of the Baltic Sea.

One of WWF's strategies is to highlight good examples and positive results from their work to show that change is possible. By showcasing progress such as increasing numbers of guillemots, improving maritime safety and the recovery of eel stocks after an extended fishing ban, WWF is demonstrating that it is possible to make a difference when we work together to protect and conserve our oceans.

A concrete example of WWF's work to revive the Baltic Sea is the project "Recreate the vitality of the Baltic Sea". WWF collaborates with local stakeholders in three coastal regions of the Baltic Sea to identify problems, restore important habitats and promote the sustainable use of marine resources.
